You’re probably tired of hearing it - but it’s inescapable. Sting’s “Desert Rose”, a duet with Cheb Mami, is coming out of everyone’s ears, and the remix is also quickly finding favour as a dance track. And “Brand New Day”, Sting’s latest album, is receiving rave reviews for the elegance with which the former Police frontman has reinvented himself.
Among the better tracks on “Brand New Day”: the title track itself, the afore-mentioned “Desert Rose”, and “A Thousand Years”. Most of the tracks deal with the subject of love and loss, and Sting’s also got some well-known international artists to collaborate on the album with him.
