This is a great compilation, with some verified classics - the real ones this time, not some cheap counterfeits - and a couple from the younger age bracket.
The veterans include “How Deep Is Your Love” from “Saturday Night Fever”, by the Bee Gees (nothing beats that glass-cracking crescendo), “Up Where We Belong” (Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes), “Lady In Red” (Chris De Burgh) and a holy host of others which will take you back to when the celluloid was grainy and the popcorn cheap. The young ‘uns take after Shaggy’s “Hope”, “When You Say Nothing At All” (Ronan Keating), “Love Is All Around” (Wet Wet Wet). And although they’re all darn good, “Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman” (Bryan Adams) still gives me the goosebumps.
These songs carry their own flag and, while some of them have long since made it to that music Hall of Fame, the others are walking up the driveway!
