In the desert that is today’s compilation charts, “Max 8” comes as a welcome oasis. A compilation of some of the biggest pop hits of the last few months, it offers tremendous value for money, in addition to an impressive list of artists and music.
The album begins with your favourite and mine, Jennifer Lopez, and her punchy “Love Don’t Cost A Thing”. This is followed immediately by more girl power, with Destiny’s Child riff on “Independent Woman”, Madonna’s “Music”, Pink’s “Most Girls” and Christina Aguilera’s peppy “Come On Over Baby”. The testosterone brigade is well represented too - Ricky Martin bangs away in “She Bangs”, A1 says “No More” and Plus One take the “Last Flight Out”.
Don’t stop there, though - LeAnn Rimes (“Can’t Fight The Moonlight”), Westlife (“My Love”), Sade (“By Your Side”) and Craig David (“7 Days”) close up this compilation with a bang. If there’s only one album you buy this month - make it this one!
