Looking for a dance album to spice up your next party? Go out and get yourself a copy of “Best 2000 Level 2”, which contains a fair amount of good dance mixes.
The album starts off with the very aggressive “Don’t Call Me Baby” by Madison Avenue, and then takes a quick bow to tradition with cuts by the Vengaboys and Eiffel 65. Chicane makes an appearance with the very danceable “Don’t Give Up”, as do Paul van Dyk with “The Riddle”, Abbacadabra with a pumping mix of Abba’s “Mama Mia” and the Wamdue Project with “You’re The Reason”.
There are quite a few less-known artists as well, some of them very good - I’d recommend Joy vs Area 51!, who’ve got a very memorable tune in “Touch By Touch 2000”, the exotic “Arabian Pleasure” by Mario Piu and Mauro Picotto, and Chili Hi Fly’s mix of “Is It Love”. The only annoyance: the terrible “Communication (Somebody Answer The Phone)”, complete with ringing cellphone effects. Somebody get that track off an otherwise excellent album!
