Since his entry into the music arena back in 1966, Carlos Santana has recorded more than 25 albums; he’s also performed at the very first Woodstock and been nominated for a whole bunch of Grammys. Santana’s superb guitar work coupled with guest appearances by a small galaxy of ’90s stars like Lauryn Hill, Dave Matthews, Everlast, Eagle-Eye Cherry are just two of the reasons why this album has been a hit.
“Supernatural” earns high marks and may in fact help overcome a musical generation gap in many homes. The focus of his hit number “Maria Maria” is about conquering a difficult state of affairs, and “Do You Like the Way” is based on themes like “Give thanks ‘cause we’re alive and been through the gutter…Take the average mind and expand it..If you want to get then give.”
“Love of My Life” expresses love and dedication, while the monster smash “Smooth” finds the man himself making sacrifices to improve things for the love of his life. “Put Your Lights On” asks God for strength and urges listeners to be beacons in this often dark world.
